This to shall pass
Wednesday, June 22nd, 2005No posts lately and for once I have a good reason. I’ve been working on something non-stop, day and night for a week and I still have a ton more to do. But first things first.
The kittens will be eight weeks old on Thursday so tomorrow we’ll be putting up the flyers to adopt them out. Hopefully by Monday they’ll all have loving homes. As much as they drive me nuts it’s hard to imagine life without them. I would love to keep them all but I know that’s impossible and worse it wouldn’t be fair to the kittens. I only hope they find good homes with loving owners. I know they’ll make someone very happy.
The house is coming along nicely and we should be finished in a couple more months. I’d show you some pictures but the camera died. The funny thing is, as soon as we’re done we’ll probably have to start packing again for the move to the next place.
Now for the major news. I’ve decided to do the Blogathon. This year Sean, Jamie and I will be blogging for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation. One of Jamie’s students, a six year old girl with the same name as me, passed away not long ago from Leukemia. She was treated at Doernbecher’s so we decided to do this Thon in her memory.
But instead of just asking friends and family we decided to take it a step further. So we’ll be holding a fundraiser outside our local Wal-Mart to raise funds and get the word out, not just about our Thon project but the whole Thon in general. We’ve already scheduled the fundraiser and bought most of the materials we’ll need. I’m still waiting on a few places to contact me with price quotes for a couple things but so far it’s going great.
Since all three of us are blogging together we decided to each have our own theme. Jamie is doing an anime theme (we think lol) and she’ll be watching and reviewing a different anime show every hour. Sean is doing a science themed blog where he’ll be showing the chemical structure of elements on the periodic table. And I’m doing an art blog where I’ll be featuring artwork from every medium with a focus on local artists.
Now for the good stuff! Each of us will be giving away eight gifts related to our theme through various contests and quizzes. Jamie and Sean are still narrowing down thier prizes though we’ve got a good idea what they’ll be. But I’ve already decided to gift away original artwork by local artists. Yes you heard me, I will be giving away actual works of art. Some of the pieces include gourd windchimes and an oil painting.
But what’s in it for the sponsors? Well aside from that warm fuzzy feeling that comes with giving from your heart, they also get a nifty sponsor gift. Sponsors who give one to nine dollars get a lovely thank you card and an awareness ribbon pin. Sponsors who give ten dollars or more will get something real spiffy. I’ve already bought them but I don’t want to give away to much to soon. But it’s safe to say that the sponsors will be happy with thier gift.
Now for the bad news. Pranagraphy.com is closing. I’ve decided I no longer like the name, people have trouble spelling it, saying it and even remembering it. Plus my grandma is embarassed to come to the site because the name sounds like pornography. So I wracked my brain and finally came up with a name that’s easy to spell, easy to remember, won’t embarass the family and I like. My new home will be at BlessedBlogger.com. And I’m not the only one moving. Sean finally bought his own site, so now you can find him at Chemicalshift.com. My friend Amy is starting a blog on my site to so check it out. We switched hosts as well so now there’s plenty of room for all my photos. And finally, I’ve opened a website specifically for my artwork and I’ll be starting a store soon as well. I just felt like it was time to get serious about my work. So make sure you bookmark CharmedDesign.com
Ok so now you know my spiffy news and I have to go. I have tons left to do, things to buy, merchants to call and a mind to lose. So wish us luck and join us on August 6th for the bestist Blogathon ever!
Good luck and blessings, Prana
