Being Kicked Never Felt So Good

This past week Sean and I started walking in the afternoon since it’s finally cool enough to go outside. It’s still as hot as the devils cojones (That’s not exactly how I said it to Sean but I’m trying to be a lady here; my Grandma might read this) but it’s tolerable. We’re trying to lose a little (ok a lot) of excess insulation in order to improve our odds of getting pregnant and also to be healthier. Starting Monday I’ll be adding a half hour of aerobics a day and we’ll see where it goes from there. I’m a much healthier person than most people are (despite my size) but I have a hard time exercising, or to be more specific sticking to it. I get discouraged easily and need both encouragement and participation from others to continue which is why we’re walking together. So far this week alone we’ve seen two rainbows, a funny little beetle, several kinds of wildflower and discovered a pomegranite tree growing literally twenty feet from our garage.

Last night we went to see Serenity. I can’t say anything without giving away important plot information so let me just say that I laughed, I cried and at one point I think I may have peed a little. During one scene I squeezed Sean’s hand for a good thirty seconds so hard it may never regain feeling. I’m both satisfied with the movie and horribly traumatized. If you’ve seen the movie you know what I’m talking about. After the movie we decided to get a bite to eat, something we rarely do because of my allergies. We stopped in at the Texas Cattle Company and I wasn’t terribly impressed. We were served what was basically cafeteria food on cafeteria dishes on a dirty table. Call me picky but I expect more for thirty bucks. The waitress was nice though and, as usual, we left a nice note and a generous tip. On the way home we almost hit a cat near the apartment which made me very angry with the neighbors. I swear I really think they ought to outlaw outdoor pets with the exception of large dogs.

Today we went to the bank to add me to the bank account. They couldn’t add me because my picture ID had expired and I may be some shady con artist pretending that’s me on the ID. If you’ve seen my ID (and you haven’t because I would set it on fire before I showed anyone) you know there is no way in hell anyone, even a criminal, would pretend to be the person in the picture. ::sigh:: Anyway, next flex-Friday we’ll got to the DMV and get a new one. Sean thinks I should just go in for my drivers license. I explained that I would love to but I thought they might deny me on the grounds that I can’t drive. He didn’t seem to convinced.

Later we went to Wal-Mart and got a few Samhain decorations, some candy for the kids and a couple toys for the cats. Technically they’re for Wintereenmas but I couldn’t resist giving them a couple early. They tore into them like lions with fresh meat and I seriously thought Jayne might attack me when I took one away for a minute. Speaking of Wintereenmas Sean and I are compiling detailed lists of things we’d like. We’ve never had the room or money to really celebrate a holiday and this year we want to go all out. It may sound unromantic to give each other wishlists instead of choosing a gift on our own but this way I don’t get a toaster cozy and Sean doesn’t end up with a snowman sweater. It’ll still be a surprise since we’re shopping seperately but at least this way we’ll get stuff we actually want, like games and other games and game related accesories. And isn’t that what Wintereenmas is really about?
