Another Picture Post

Sunday, January 29th, 2006

Wow, it’s been awhile since I updated huh? Busy, busy, busy. For starters we’re working like madmen on Dawn’s site, Pet Integrity, every free second we have. Right now we’re trying to get a decent gallery up so we can showcase all of the totally adorable kitties available for adoption. Check back soon. Dawn, bless her sleep deprived heart, gave all the vollunteers a giftbag during the holidays which included two t-shirts, car magnets, business cards, refrigerator magnets and a spiffy tote.

Giftbag

The cats have hit their terrible twos or whatever the equivelant is for cats. As evidenced by their new favorite sleeping place. Notice the large empty basket behind them? That’s the basket we bought them to sleep in. Now notice the basket’s their actually in. Those are the decorative baskets we keep up on the shelf that they keep pulling down.

Cats

Their also enjoying their solstice presents, like the big tube.

Cats

Still, sometimes they can be cute. Like in this picture of several cats laying on Sean (hard to see from this angle). The one in between his legs is Malcolm being silly and laying upside down so he can slide down the blankets.

Or in this picture. The top photo is Samhain, he’s crying because Neo wouldn’t let him play with his tail. And the bottom photo is Neo taking out his frustrations about Samhain’s tail grabbery on Trinity and Trinity retaliating with her secret laserbeam eye attack.

Last weekend we did a fair bit of spring cleaning and finally got the garage, among other things, straightened up. See my clean garage? I deserve a gold star. That odd looking creature on the fence is our local road runner. He’s a sneaky fellow, hard to catch site of, but he was kind enough to sit on our fence for a couple photos.

He wasn’t the only creature hanging out by the garage. We also found a good number of spiders, though strangely not a single black widow. Perhaps it’s to cold for them. Since we’re of the mindset that all life is sacred we were very careful not to squash any of these disgusting beautiful works of nature or their webs. I’m not so sure about the giant though, that one kind of freaks me out, especially since her eggs are the size of bird eggs. Maybe we’ll relocate her and her eggs out into the desert.
SpidersSpiders

What else have I been up to? Hmm…We finished watching the entire Buffy series, finally watched all the stuff we had taped on the ReplayTV, played entirely to much WoW with Jamie and Fred, and I got myself some fake nails. I bite my nails when I’m nervous and I was on the verge of loosing a finger so I decided to try fake nails. They looked pretty but they fell off after two days. Oh well.

Ok, time for me to get some work done. Good luck and blessings, Prana

What Goes Down Must Come Up

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

I think maybe I’m sick. My first clue was when I woke up at five am and everything I’ve ever eaten in my life came gushing out of me. In fact, I think the force of my barfiness was so strong I hurled up stuff I haven’t eaten yet. Food from the future. But, despite my almost constant wish for the sweet release of death I’m here, online, to play WoW with my bestist buddy Jamie. We never see each other anymore and I said I would and I’m a woman of my word.

Yesterday we did a bit of early spring cleaning, then moved some furniture around and cursed at my Eye Toy for awhile. The cleaning and the lifting of heavy things and the exercise have taken their toll. The air around me hurts.

I absolutely refuse to get sick, I have entirely to much work to do and to many people counting on me. So as soon as the sparklies in front of my eyes go away and I figure out how I got on the floor I’m going to get to work. Honest….. ::falls asleep::.

Good luck and blessings, Prana

I’m Famous!

Thursday, January 12th, 2006

So it’s been an interesting week for us as it seems I’m something of a local celebrity (in my mind). First I was mentioned in the local paper when they did a story on our local chapter of Freecycle. I’m the Pet Moderator for our chapter so my name was mentioned. You can read the article here. Read carefully or you might miss it as I only have one line about 2/3rds of the way through the article. But who cares? I’m in the paper, woo!

Then I was informed yesterday that I was mentioned in an ad in our local Swap Sheet (a free paper where people advertise their business, sell used cars and tell you about their yard sales). Sean and I are volunteers at the only no-kill animal shelter in town, Pet Integrity. We designed and run their website and help with the computers. Dawn, the superwoman of animal rescue who runs Pet Integrity, has been putting a full page ad for the store/rescue in the Swap Sheet and in the last ad she thanks all the volunteers including Sean and I and our design organization, Charmed Design. You can see it here. Very cool.

In other news, I’m exhausted. That’s not so much news as a desperate cry for help. The last five of our twelve cats got neutured today which is always stressful and I’m working my tail off on the PI website and several other projects. Added to my daily list of housework, cooking, shopping, managing the finances and planning our upcoming Valentines Day get-away I’m totally worn out. If anyone needs me I’ll be locked in the bathroom soaking in a hot tub reading a book. And maybe taking a nap. But not in the tub, that would just be silly and besides I’m not that desperate just yet. Good luck and blessings, Prana
