In Memorium – R.I.P. P.C.

Friday, July 21st, 2006
We gather today to fondly remember our friend, PC, who a short time ago burned out a motherboard and left us for a happier place. PC is surviced by Rollerball Mouse and Wacom Tablet. You will be missed. ::tears up::

So a couple weeks ago my PC, who after my husband and my cats, is my most cherished posession, just stopped working. Sean, a certified doctor of geekery quickly diagnosed the problem and suggested that rather than trying to ressurect my old PC I allow it to pass on gracefully and adopt a newer model. We didn’t really have the money but after two days with no internet, no photoshop, no messenger programs and no video games I broke down and placed an order at Dell.com. My love for this new computer is so strong, so perverse, that I fear I may divorce Sean and run away with it.

The 24th is our seven year wedding anniverary and instead of doing all the usual celebratory things that bore us both to tears we decided to ‘go on vacation’. This vacation consists of buying lots of yummy foods and drinks, renting movies and games, turning off the ringer and locking ourselves in the house with the curtains drawn. Most girls would probably rather have a fancy dinner and get jewelry and all that but I tell you I’m in heaven. Sean bought me DDR, Fatal Frame and Guild Wars! And what did I give him you ask?

1. Mono.

2. Fine literature.

3. A way to indulge his passive agressive nature.

So, if I don’t answer your calls (pfft yeah…that will be a problem….) you know why.

Also, July 29th is the Blogathon, a very fun 24 hour charity event. I won’t be blogging it this year but I will be working as a monitor behind the scenes. So I hope that you’ll pop in (it’s 6am west coast, 9am east coast) and see what’s going on and that you’ll earn some bonus kharma points by donating to one of the deserving charities. For more info please go to www.blogathon.org.

Good luck and blessings, Prana
