What is Blessed Blogger and how do you pronounce it?
BB is my personal homepage, the place I publish the stories, poetry and articles I write. It’s also the place I pretend to have interesting things to say. This is where you’ll find my photos and other personal things. For my artwork you need to go to www.charmeddesign.com . Some people pronounce it Blessed and some pronounce it Bless-ed. Either way works for me.

What happened to your other site, Pranagraphy.com?
Pranagraphy was closed on July 1st of 2005 for several reasons. For one, visitors had a hard time spelling it and remembering the right name. Another reason is that people confused it with the word pornography which is very very different. The word Pranagraphy is a combination of the word Prana which is Hindu for the all-pervading vital energy of the universe and the suffix graphy which means the art of writing or describing whatever the subject is. In this case it’s Prana, which is me. I felt that BB would be easier for people to remember and spell and wouldn’t make my granny blush.

Who are you?
Well my real name is Melissa Clancy but all my friends call me Prana. People who want to die a slow painful death call me Piranha. I’m not a fish. I’m twenty seven and I’ve been happily married since 199 to my high school sweetheart Sean. We’re owned by twelve cats. I may start charging admission to see our ‘zoo’. We’ve been trying to have our first child since January 1st 2004. Sean is a chemist, you can read his blog at www.chemicalshift.com and I’m a freelance artist and writer. Right now I’m working on developing my skills as an artist and writing a novel for young adults.

Hi, I’m Melissa ‘Prana’ Clancy, a redheaded Pagan. I eat pickles wrapped in cheese. I swallow my tongue to amuse and frighten children. I sing when I’m shopping and I say weeeeee when I’m in an elevator.

I’m married to my best friend. I kinda scare him sometimes because well, I’m crazy. We make up silly songs about dirty things and sing them to each other when we’re stressed out. We don’t have any kids but we do have a closet full of kids toys and sometimes we even play with them.

I have several cats that are more like children. Sometimes I dress them in doll baby clothes. They like it, they really do. They sleep in my bed and drink my bath water. It’s gross but what do you expect, they’re cats.

I think sex is good and love is better. I’m almost invisible the first five minutes you meet me but after that watch out. I have opinions and I share them, sometimes at inappropriate times which can be very amusing…for me. I like pictures of nude women. Not because I find them sexually attractive, but because women are beautiful. My husband thinks I’m the coolest wife ever.

I think people should get mad everyday and then laugh about it. I think people should think. Sometimes they should think about themselves. Mostly they should think about others. I don’t believe in judging others. I do believe that if you insist on judging them you should at least give them a tiara and maybe a sash. I believe everyone feels better in a tiara.

I think fairies hide my things. I think aliens exist, and reality TV does not, and that family is a matter of perception. I send my mom coins with angels on them so she can give them to strangers. I think everyone needs an angel, especially people I don’t know.

I believe that you’re worth my time and I’m worth your respect and that if everyone believed this we would all be much happier. I believe that everything you have read here has been very confusing and that’s ok. I’m Prana and this is who I am.

10 Things (You Don’t Know) About Me

1. I’m horribly accident prone and have terrible luck when it comes to health. I’ve been covered in and bitten by spiders, ants and once in 7th grade I had scabies (if you’re brave look it up). I’ve cut my tongue open on a sucker, broken my hand hitting a volleyball, had a splinter six inches long pulled out of my stomache and once I was bitten on the mouth by a brown recluse (again if your brave look it up). And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

2. I’m comepletely unashamedly silly, especially when I’m with kids. I’ll gladly sing, dance or pretend to be other people/animals in public if I’m with a kid. I’ll wear fruit on my head, play hide-and-seek and make crazy faces in the grocery store. Strangely this only works if I’m with kids. If I’m alone I’m a total chicken.

3. I’m horribly afraid of several things, some very odd. I fear clowns, bugs (even butterflies), the ocean, glitter, ghosts, talking to people on the phone that I percieve as authority figures (even pizza guys!), driving and crowds.

4. I can swallow my tongue (my tongue isn’t attached to the bottom of my mouth), I can I start dreaming as soon as I fall asleep without any transition and then remember everything from my dream including exact names, dates, and tiny details like the pattern on the dishes.

5. I never actually graduated from elementary school or highschool. When I was in 6th grade a girl punched me so hard it cracked my teeth and seperated my upper lip from my gums and I passed out. I never went back to school but I had straight A’s and my teacher, who loved me, gave me A’s for the last two month of school even though I didn’t show up. My senior year of highschool I was kicked out of school because I was ‘a health risk’. I passed out in the girls room because I hadn’t eaten in days. I was so afraid of being sick at school (I had Celiac’s and didn’t know it) that I wouldn’t eat. The school wouldn’t let me come back so I got my highschool diploma through the mail.

6. I have one full blood brother and one half blood brother but I love them both equally. I also have two step-sisters and one step-brother but I’ve had a lot of other step-siblings. When my mom was pregnant with me I was twins but my twin ‘disappeared’. I’m the oldest of all my siblings, biological and step. I’m also my grandmothers first grandchild and the first girl and the only person in my family with red hair.

7. My philosophy on life is short and simple. Religion: God doesn’t care what you believe as long as you’re a good person. Family: You’re family is the people who love you, not the people related to you. Kids: Kids aren’t property, they’re our temporary students. It isn’t our job to control them, it’s our job to teach them to control themselves. Marriage: Marriage isn’t a public or church offical giving you a piece of paper, it’s responsibly making a commitment to love and respect a person for all time for exactly who they are. If you have problems with your mate that you can’t get past, don’t get married. Love: Love is the best and most magical experience we can be a part of, but love isn’t an excuse for doing wrong nor is it a reason to stay when things get bad. You can love someone and NOT be with them. Life: life is life is life. My cat’s life is just as important as mine, a dolphin is no more important than a mouse. Once somethings been born I figure it’s here for a reason and we don’t have any right to end it’s life, even if the it in question is a criminal.

8. My biggest flaws are an obsession with being neat and orderly, a desire to control everything in my life, stubborness, judgementalness and impatience. I’m working on them though, honest. My biggest assests are my brutal honesty, my willingness to go against the grain, my independence, my big heart, my ability to listen, my ability to empathize, a willingness to be wrong and admit it and my love of children and animals.

9. Until I was seventeen I swore to anyone who would listen that I would never have kids or be stuck at home taking care of them. I wanted to be a career woman. I figure that was because a lot of the stay at home moms I knew were miserable. When I got married I changed my mind and now all I want is to be a mom. If I could I would have fifteen kids. My dream is to homeschool and be a cooler more modern version of the mom on little house on the prairie.

10. I’m secretly fascinated with miniatures (like doll furniture or scrapbooking stuff). I’m not a girly girl but in private I collect tea sets, barbies and delicate jewelry that I never wear. I’ve always wanted to do one of those corney mystery murder weekends. I’m totally enthralled by survival techniques and learn everything I can about it just in case I’m ever lost in the woods or stranded on an island.
