-KEEPING THE MAGIC OF ART ALIVE!–
What is the ring about/for? A web ring links many sites together that have the same type of content. This way, webmasters can increase the number of viewers to their site, and viewers can see a series of sites in the genre they are looking for without searching all over the Internet. It also helps people of like interests get acquainted.
Pagan Graphics
The Pagan Graphics web ring is for Pagan artists who create personal web graphics, free web graphics, do web design (free or paid), or showcase Pagan art/artists. This ring only applies to graphic artists, i.e. graphics, clipart, photography.
Pagan Creativity
The Pagan Creativity web ring is for Pagan artists of all kinds. We’re looking for poets, graphic artists, writers, lyricist, crafters, etc.
Who can join the rings? Anyone can apply to the ring that has a working website with the type of art specific to the ring. You must also agree to certain rules. You can join both rings, but you’ll have to put up both navigation bars.
What are the rules? It’s my job to make sure that the ring functions properly and gets updated from time to time. If the ring gets disorganized, then visitors won’t be able to find the content they’re looking for and you won’t get any visitors. To ensure that the ring stays in working order, I need members to agree to a few rules that will help us all get the results we want.
The rules
1. You MUST update your website every now and then. That means keeping the links working and adding new content when you can. You don’t have to have a professionally designed site, just one that works. When applying to the ring, please leave me the address to your homepage or the page on which you have your artwork, NOT the page on which you list the Webrings you belong to.
2. You MUST put the ring’s navigation bar on your site. Either on the first page or on a page clearly marked Web Rings. It doesn’t have to be on the first page, but if visitors can’t find the ring navigation bar on your site, then they can’t get to the next site in the ring.
3. You MUST keep your account information current. If you change the url of your website or your email address, you have to update that information in your account.
4. Your site CAN NOT contain hate propaganda, ethnic/racial/religious/ slurs, or pornography. By pornography I don’t mean information on sex magic or nudity for arts sake (like a naked fairy), I’m talking about actual pornography. If you have any adult material on your website, it should be put under password so that any children who visit your site aren’t exposed to it.
5. You must provide an accurate description of your site. If you have personal graphics that are just for show/sale, then say so in your account information when you are describing your site. Likewise, if you have FREE graphics (poetry, music, etc) then please say so. If you have erotic/adult/violent images or text on your site PLEASE make sure you mention this in your description. Some people are looking specifically for that and some people don’t wish to see it. Providing an accurate description of what your site is about will help visitors to find what they are looking for quickly and increases the probability that they will come back.
6. I prefer that you have something that others can use on their site. It’s not mandatory, but I would appreciate it if you had at least one graphic, program, banner, poem, etc. that YOU created that you’ll allow others to use as freeware or linkware.
7. Your site must not contain stolen text or graphics. What I mean buy stolen, is any text or graphic which you didn’t create (even if you modified it) and have not gotten permission from the original artist to use. This is copyright theft and will not be allowed in my rings. If you have text or graphics on your site that do not belong to you, you must have permission to use them and you must give them credit for their work by providing their name and website.
8. Is there anything else I should know before I apply? Yep. Every now and then I email everyone on the list to let them know about any changes to the ring. Once a month (or so) I review every site in the ring to make sure they are up to date. If I see that you don’t have a navigation bar up, that your url doesn’t work or that your email address has changed then I will try to email you, asking that you fix the problem. If after a week the problem isn’t fixed, you will be suspended from the ring. This means that visitors will not see your site in the ring. If you still haven’t fixed the problem within a week and after repeated emails and warnings, then your site will be deleted from the ring. I’m not being mean, I am just doing my job. In return for your cooperation, I will keep the ring running and make sure that lots of new visitors see your site. I will also do my best to make sure that visitors don’t steal your art. And if someone does use your art without your permission, I will do everything I can to get it removed from their site.
Now if you would still like to apply, then head to www.webring.com and send me your application (if you haven’t already). Email me with questions or comments at kaliprana@(REMOVETHIS)gmail.com
